Why Every Visit to Our Shop is “By Appointment Only”

Your Showroom Visit Guide: What to Expect at Our Family Farm

We enjoy meeting with customers so they can see our furniture up close and we can answer any questions they have. We understand the handcrafted furniture pieces we create are a major purchase, and we take that very seriously.

Every visit to our showroom is by appointment only. There are several reasons why it has to be this way.

Why Appointments Are Essential

First, we don't have a storefront. Our furniture showroom is on our family farm, which is a private residence.

Secondly, I want to make sure I am both home and available to meet when you come for a visit. I typically spend at least an hour—and often longer—with each prospective buyer. We schedule visits about two hours apart to give everyone the time and personal attention they deserve.

It's common for us to sketch ideas, discuss proposed dimensions, and go over wood types, colors, and finishing during your visit.

Important: Scheduled visits let us focus on the details so we can design the perfect piece for your home.

Finding Our Farm: Landmarks to Look For

1) No FFTB Sign at the Entrance

There is no formal "FFTB" sign at the road. A sign would invite drop-ins without appointments.

2) Look for the "Greenhouse Farm" Sign

You'll see a carved wooden sign showing a chestnut tree and our 1813 barn. This sign uses the historic name of our property and marks the entrance to the farm.

3) The Old Rusty Mailbox (#191)

Across from our driveway is a big, old rusty mailbox, number 191. It's been here for many years—bumped by snowplows and tractors—and still standing.

4) Parking Instructions

When you enter our driveway, you'll pass the old fieldstone farmhouse (built in 1813) and the white barn showroom addition. Park in front of the fieldstone wall or to the right near the black horse fence and gate.

5) Friendly Greeters

You may be greeted by Gracie, our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. You'll also likely meet Oakie (our shop cat) If you're allergic, please let us know in advance so we can keep pets inside during your visit.
